Communications & Outreach Associate

Sankala Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation working at the intersection of research, policy advocacy, and public dialogue on critical issues including the SDGs, water and sanitation, public health, natural resource management, sustainability, climate resilience, wildlife protection, and biodiversity conservation.

 

We are looking for a dynamic Communications & Outreach Associate who is passionate about policy, governance, and public interest communication, and can translate research and ideas into compelling narratives.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Manage Sankala Foundation’s social media presence across Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, and YouTube, including content planning, publishing, and performance tracking.
  • Develop and execute communication strategies to disseminate research outputs and organisational initiatives across digital, print, and web platforms.
  • Draft press releases, media briefs, and communication notes for programme launches and key announcements.
  • Update website content, programme pages and blogs.
  • Design basic communication materials such as social media creatives, posters, and infographics using Canva or similar tools.
  • Editing documents and reports.
Eligibility
  • Education:Master’s degree in mass communication/ journalism/ Management/ development sector or a related field.
  • Experience:Minium 2-3 years of relevant experience of working with a reputed developmental organization in communications, media, or digital content management.
  • Attributes:Excellent writing, editing, and research skills with strong attention to clarity and detail. Proven experience in social media management and multi-platform communication strategies. Ability to conceptualise, execute, and evaluate high-impact digital campaigns. Strong understanding of current trends and best practices in digital media and audience engagement. Hands-on experience with Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar design tools is essential.
