Sankala Internship Programme-2025

We are inviting Internship Application to join the 4th edition, ‘Silent Conversation: From Margins to the Centre’, an annual tribal art exhibition organised by Sankala Foundation. The exhibition celebrates the relationship between India’s tribal communities and their natural surroundings, highlighting their deep-rooted conservation ethos.

About the Role


This 3-month internship is ideal for motivated individuals passionate about Environment, Sustainability, Indian art, and natural and cultural heritage. Interns will gain hands-on experience at the intersection of event management, strategic communication and policy advocacy, with a particular focus on data management and exhibition coordination. The role involves supporting the planning, coordination, and communication efforts for the exhibition, along with opportunities to work directly with artists, organisations, and visitors.

Who can apply?


We’re looking for candidates who bring both passion and purpose to the table. You would be a great fit if you have:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in fields such as Environmental Studies, Social Sciences, Fine Arts, History, Indian Art, or related disciplines; Masters in any of the above fields is preferred.
  • Strong skills in data management, task coordination, and proficiency in tools like MS Excel.
  • A good command over writing, documentation, and drafting, especially in the context of cultural or environmental work.
  • A deep interest in natural and cultural heritage, with strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Willingness to work in an office-based setup.

Honorarium


Selected interns will receive a stipend of INR 15000 – 20,000 per month based on educational qualification and skill assessment.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist with data collation and management, including Excel-based tracking of artworks, logistics, and visitor engagement records.
  2. Support event planning and coordination for the exhibition.
  3. Work with the team on artwork selection, documentation, and layout planning.
  4. Liaise with artists, visitors, and partner organizations to ensure smooth execution of the event.

Selection Process


  • Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview and skill assessment (including Excel proficiency).
  • The final selection will be based on academic background, relevant experience, and alignment with the Sankala Foundation’s vision and work style.
