A Report on Silent Conversation: From Margins to the Centre
A Tribal Art Exhibition Series Organised by Sankala Foundation in collaboration with NTCA Supported by IBCA, NHRC, IGRMS and CII
The idea of Silent Conversation: From Margins to the Centre is inspired by the wisdom, resilience, and creativity of India’s
tribal communities and forest dwellers, who have lived in harmony with nature for generations. Their art, culture, and
lived experiences stand as silent yet profound testaments to conservation, coexistence, and sustainability. This exhibition
is envisioned as a platform to bring their voices from the margins to the centre of cultural and ecological discourse.
We are grateful to the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) for their unstinting collaborative support for this
initiative.
We extend our sincere thanks to the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) and the National Human Rights Commission
(NHRC) for strengthening this endeavour. In particular, we are thankful to Shri Bharat Lal, Secretary-General, NHRC, India,
and Dr S P Yadav, Director General, IBCA, for their guidance and encouragement in conceptualising and shaping the series
of exhibitions held since 2023.
