Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Committee at Sankala Foundation
In line with The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, we have constituted an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to handle complaints related to workplace harassment with utmost confidentiality, fairness, and sensitivity.
Role and Responsibilities of the POSH Committee
The POSH Committee at Sankala Foundation is responsible for:
- Prevention: Conducting awareness programs, training sessions, and sensitization workshops to educate employees about their rights and responsibilities under the POSH Act.
- Prohibition: Ensuring that our workplace maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of sexual harassment.
- Redressal: Handling complaints in a fair, impartial, and time-bound manner, ensuring that due process is followed while maintaining the confidentiality of all parties involved.
- Support & Guidance: Offering a safe space for employees to report concerns without fear of retaliation and providing appropriate assistance to affected individuals.
Composition of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)
As per Section 4 of the POSH Act, 2013, Sankala Foundation has constituted the following committee members:
- Presiding Officer: Dr. Abha Jaiswal, Visiting Fellow
- Member: Mr. Amitabh Agnihotri, Distinguished Fellow
- Member: Ms. Rachna Gahilote Bisht
- Member: Dr. Adeeba Parveen, Senior Research Associate
How to File a Complaint?
If any employee experiences or witnesses sexual harassment at the workplace, they can reach out to the ICC in confidence. Complaints can be submitted in writing via email or in person to any of the committee members. The committee will ensure a prompt, unbiased, and discreet investigation following the procedures outlined in the POSH Act.
