Proceedings of National Conference on Tribal Arts and India’s Conservation Ethos
In Partnership With Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya | Supported By Confederation of Indian (CII)
T
he idea for the National Conference on ‘Tribal Arts and India’s Conservation Ethos: Living Wisdom’, a dialogue on
Heritage, Culture, and Conservation was inspired by the timeless wisdom of India’s tribal communities, whose lives remain
deeply intertwined with nature. Their traditions, art forms, and philosophies embody a living continuity of human–nature
relations, offering valuable insights into India’s conservation ethos.
This conference was envisioned as a dialogue to honour that wisdom, and bring together artists, scholars, conservationists, and community leaders to celebrate and sustain these cultural legacies. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the tribal artists and knowledge keepers whose expressions and experiences gave this initiative meaning and direction.
