Description
This documentation of waterbodies (from 53 tiger reserves) attempts to establish the crucial links between healthy ecosystems (like in tiger reserves) and balanced water cycles. These forested watersheds supply water to over 340 million people and 19 million hectares of farmland, while sustaining rich biodiversity.
Divided into three chapters, the book gives an exhaustive account of various river basins that support life inside tiger reserves. Detailed maps on existing water bodies and some rare photographs enhance the value of this collection that aims to support better management of forests and ensure the long-term security of natural water bodies.
This volume, the third and last in the series exploring the heritage, waterfalls and water bodies in India’s tiger reserves. The first two volumes focused on the rich historical and cultural heritage inside tiger reserves and listed some of the most enchanting waterfalls inside these sanctuaries.
